Invitation to Quote - Veneer Quality Red Oak Logs
The Algonquin Forestry Authority (AFA), the Ontario Crown Agency responsible for forest management in Algonquin Park, is seeking interest from the owners of processing facilities (sawmill or veneer mill) to purchase veneer quality red oak logs available at AFA Processing Yard in Pembroke, Ontario. This veneer will be produced from AFA’s 2011/2012 winter operations.
Estimated available volumes are as follows: Approximately 20 MFBM
1. Conditions of the sale are as follows:
- Veneer logs will be sold FOB on the ground at the AFA Pembroke Processing Yard, 1543 Doran Road Pembroke, Ontario.
- AFA will scale and supervise the loading of the logs
- Scale will be based on the attached ”AFA Veneer Specifications” and be scaled by an AFA Approved Scaler prior to loading it on a truck
- The sale will be conditional on obtaining a Haul Authorization from the Ministry of Natural Resources, along with any other necessary permits or approvals
- The successful bidder will enter into a sales agreement with the AFA
- The highest or any price will not necessarily be accepted
